5 Minute Apple Cranberry Oatmeal

Looking for something wholesome, filling, fast AND delicious for breakfast?  Look no further!  This 5 minute recipe yields one serving of delicious apple cranberry oatmeal. Perfect for kids rushing off to school, but adults will love it too.  Works well with raisins if you don’t have or don’t like cranberries.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 Cup quick oats
  • 2 Tablespoons dried cranberries (or sub raisins)
  • 1/2 Cup diced apples (about half of one apple)
  • 1 Tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 cup of milk

Directions:

  1. Place all ingredients in a microwave safe dish.
  2. microwave for 2 minutes 30 seconds

Its really just that simple.  If you like your oatmeal thicker, just cook it a bit longer and it will thicken up.

If you want some variety or have picky eaters try other fruits or dried fruits.  Sliced bananas with a tablespoon of peanut butter, or dried cherries or dried apricots work well.  You are only limited by your imagination.
